  2. Question about units of SSP population datasets

    Hello, I've downloaded the Global One-Eighth Degree Population Base Year and Projection Grids Based on the SSPs, v1.01 (2000 – 2100) datasets and the readme file indicates that the data values are in number of persons, but the netcdf shows the units as degrees? Please can you clarify what the data values in the netcdf files? Thank you.

  5. Update your IUCN Link

    The link to the IUCN page on technical documentation is expired: http://www.iucnredlist.org/technical-documents/spatial-data

    When followed it results in a 404 not found error, making it difficult to find methodological information

  6. ...allow larger download size for California and Texas SF1 shapefiles only

    I ran into a problem downloading "shapefile only" SF1 data for California and Texas as the file size is over 100% of the limit and it is not possible to de-select demographic data to get the size down. Could you relax the download limit for these two states or allow splitting into downloadable file sizes?

  7. Indian Rainfall Data

    I am unsure about the formatting of the geographical coordinates, would it be possible to have this information? I believe the data is in UTM format, but when converting it to latitude and longitude in degrees, the geographical location does not correspond to the state to which it is supposed to refer to. Would it be possible to have additional documentation on how the data was constructed and the formatting?

    Thank you so much

  8. Geographical mistake

    Good evening,
    I found in the eastern Italy map of this section : https://sedac.ciesin.columbia.edu/data/set/lecz-urban-rural-population-land-area-estimates-v2/maps an indication of "Bologna" located in the city of Ferrara (Bologna is below).
    The map is very nice, by the way.
    Thanks

  9. Monthly data

    Well its good we have annual data of AOD PM 2.5 but it is much more helpful if we have monthly data and seasonal data also. It gives us opportunity to have a close look of analysis

  10. Correct obvious mistakes

    Strangely, several countries partially lack data, with an outcome that some of the largest cities in the world are missing: Guangzhou-Hong Kong conurbation 70 million people; Copenhagen (one third of Denmark's population); Brussels and most Flanders (50% of Belgium's population); Buenos Aires (one third of Argentina's population on #2 city in South America) etc.

  16. Fiji Population Density GRID

    Hi, Would you be able to describe for me how exactly you converted our current enumeration boundaries to a nation wide grid system. I understand that you created this grid for all the countries in the world i just dont understand how you converted our current enumeration area counts to be reflected in your current GPWv3 system.

  17. Read the data in Matlab

    Hi, I am trying to read the population density data in 2005 and 2015 in Matlab. I am using the following codes.

    [pop, R] = geotiffread('gpw-v4-population-density_2005.tif');
    figure
    mapshow(pop, R);

    The reference R looks normal, but the density matrix pop has huge negative numbers in each entry. I also tried to use Mathematica to read the file, and it also does not work. Could you provide us simple examples on how to access your tif file? Thanks!

  18. polygon shapefiles for GPWv4 National Identifier Grid

    Hello, I'm hoping to be able to download the raster for the polygon shapefiles for the GPWv4 National Identifier Grid. The page says, "Rasters of all resolutions were also converted to polygon shapefiles." Thanks.

  19. I need numerical time-series data from NASA world maps

    I plot the data of systemic indicators and by isolating the periods of regular proportional change I identify the periods of emergent system transformation.
