There are several water quality and quantity indicators used in the Environmental Sustainability Index, which can be accessed through http://sedac.ciesin.columbia.edu/es/esi/. The full methodology is described – we do not have a ‘profitability’ indicator, but the quality indicators were derived from the UNEP/GEMS data set. Country scores were compiled as an average of the station-level scores for each country.
