I downloaded the ArcInfo interchange files and tried (after import) to open them with the ARCGIS 8 software but each time it failed to open the file. I think the sta.adf file is missing (or another one). Could you please help me?
There is a software limit in the GRID format for data — a table will not be available for the interchange (.e00) files as they contain floating-point (decimal) values. Some of the BIL files will have a table associated with them (they have been rounded to whole numbers) but the software will not create a table automatically for many because the range of values exceeds 100,000. To create a table, use the ‘buildvat’ command in GRID.
