  1. Fix Projection errors in Global Man-made Impervious Surface & Settlement Extent from Landsat

    I downloaded ( by hand) all of the tiles in GMIS in a geographic projection. When I examined the booundary tiles (01, and 60) it is clear that these were not projected properly from UTM and have longitude extents of 360 degrees.

  2. Monthly data

    Well its good we have annual data of AOD PM 2.5 but it is much more helpful if we have monthly data and seasonal data also. It gives us opportunity to have a close look of analysis

  3. Correct obvious mistakes

    Strangely, several countries partially lack data, with an outcome that some of the largest cities in the world are missing: Guangzhou-Hong Kong conurbation 70 million people; Copenhagen (one third of Denmark's population); Brussels and most Flanders (50% of Belgium's population); Buenos Aires (one third of Argentina's population on #2 city in South America) etc.

    Hi I noticed your SSL Cert has lapsed. We link to the metadata and the htttps link used to work but its stopped. Could you enable it?

  6. Question

    Hello,
    I want to ask you why I can't the following codes in the GB administrative divisions codes dataset: 331120, 341420, 341620 ... I really need to get the location of these codes.

  8. Can we download through curl or wget command

    I wanted to download all India states village outlines (http://sedac.ciesin.columbia.edu/data/set/india-india-village-level-geospatial-socio-econ-1991-2001/data-download) directly to our server. Is it possible using curl or wget command? If yes, can you share sample please. Thanks.

  9. polygon shapefiles for GPWv4 National Identifier Grid

    Hello, I'm hoping to be able to download the raster for the polygon shapefiles for the GPWv4 National Identifier Grid. The page says, "Rasters of all resolutions were also converted to polygon shapefiles." Thanks.

  12. Update old Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheets to .csv files

    http://sedac.ciesin.columbia.edu/data/set/cddc-china-agricultural-stats-1949-1990

    This dataset is in Lotus 1-2-3 format which is unreadable with modern software. Please could you update this to a future-proof CSV format?

  13. numeric data for impervious surface areas

    I was looking at: -- Global Man-made Impervious Surface (GMIS) Dataset From Landsat, v1 (2010) -- But could find no table of numeric values. I was actually looking for time series of numeric values as a proxy for global habitat loss.

    I'll look for the "footprint data" and "Nighttime Lights data", but suspect there may be no tables of numeric data for those too. I don't have the expertise to extract it. If I wanted to get time series for the global totals for these how would I get it?

  16. Description error

    On page http://sedac.ciesin.columbia.edu/data/set/sdei-global-annual-avg-pm2-5-2001-2010
    It says that 30 arc-mins is aprox 50 sq. km is wrong. You need to remove the sq.

    30 arc-mins is aprox 50 km at the equator.

  19. error in your maps -----CORRECT THIS MAP

    You list this map as "Buenos Aires, Brazil" -- Buenos Aires is in Argentina -- the capital of Brazil is Brasilia. SO which map is this, Buenos Aires or Brasilia??????
