clarify normalization approach as the min and max provided do not allow to recalculate the scores
I am working as a project leader on a UN project called ISPAR and I am asked by Member States to recalculate countries' scores and ranks. for most indicators, the information provided is enough. However, for others in particular the indicators named GHP and GHN, PMD, TCL, GRL and WTL, as well as RMS et FTD, full information for the min and max is not provided which make it impossible to exactly recalculate and get the exact same scores and ranks. as a result, Member States have a lot of questions and are reluctant to use the index to guide…

Suggestion to update to new R-spatial dependencies
In the R code and associated inputs used to match latitude/longitude coordinates stored in RDS format to the PM2.5 data in RDS format, and convert to GeoTIFF:
- Suggestion to update R scripts using {raster}, {rgdal}, and {sp} packages to using {terra} and {sf} packages instead. The former packages are scheduled for deprecation soon (see: https://r-spatial.org/r/2022/12/14/evolution2.html)

Clarification for moving window arugments for GeoTIFFs
In the R code and associated inputs used to match latitude/longitude coordinates stored in RDS format to the PM2.5 data in RDS format, and convert to GeoTIFF:
Specifically in the file named "RDS to GeoTIFF_conversion.R":
Line 56: What was the reason the authors chose 1/8 for the weighted average for the moving window (3 x 3 window)? The convention is 1/9 for the (n=9 gridded cell window)

Correction of Maldives data necessary?
Hello to the GPWv4-Team,
I am currently using the 2020 population density database (rev-11) in the 15-min precicion and I might have found an error in the database:
The data of the Maldives seems to be some orders of magnitude too high. It could be that the population density of some of the islands was extrapolated to the overall grid size.
The highest gridpoint value in the Maldives that I could find is 28973.89.
As it is close to the equator, the 30x30 km gridpoint assumption should still be valid. Consequently, in that gridpoint alone, there would live more than…1 vote -
Enable the Use of Place Markers on the Map
I would love to put place markers on the map and label them accordingly like on Population Explorer. And preferably be able to have more than PE, too (they only allow up to 30).

Please correct/provide August files - Air Quality Data for Health-Related Applications
Hi. I am downloading the Air Quality for Health-Related Applications. For years 2006 - 2009, the download file for August is the same as the July file. At least, the file names are the same (I did not check the contents). Will you please provide the August file for these years?

There is no Europen side of Turkey in Human Footprint Index, v2 Maps
I have downloaded your Human Footprint Index, v2 maps for both Europe and Asia; there were no Istanbul and other European cities in Turkey in both continental maps. Could you add the European side, please?

Fix error in 2020 population estimate in Eastern Europe
I have noticed a major discrepancy in the population estimation service's 2020 figures in comparison to the figures for previous years. When a shape is selected which includes parts of southeastern Romania, the 2020 figure returns numbers 10-15 million higher than the 2015 figure; it's especially noticeable when selecting an area east of Bucharest that had barely 300,000 people in 2015 and 6 million people in 2020. Often when selecting smaller areas in this region, the service has issues processing and hangs for a long time.

Question about units of SSP population datasets
Hello, I've downloaded the Global One-Eighth Degree Population Base Year and Projection Grids Based on the SSPs, v1.01 (2000 – 2100) datasets and the readme file indicates that the data values are in number of persons, but the netcdf shows the units as degrees? Please can you clarify what the data values in the netcdf files? Thank you.

...allow larger download size for California and Texas SF1 shapefiles only
I ran into a problem downloading "shapefile only" SF1 data for California and Texas as the file size is over 100% of the limit and it is not possible to de-select demographic data to get the size down. Could you relax the download limit for these two states or allow splitting into downloadable file sizes?

Indian Rainfall Data
I am unsure about the formatting of the geographical coordinates, would it be possible to have this information? I believe the data is in UTM format, but when converting it to latitude and longitude in degrees, the geographical location does not correspond to the state to which it is supposed to refer to. Would it be possible to have additional documentation on how the data was constructed and the formatting?
Thank you so much
